Helga Sigurðardóttir
"Flow of Power - land and mountains"

I was on the way to Grindavík to see Helga Sigurðardóttir's exhibition. Weather being a great preparation to experience watercolor paintings. Fresh wind blowing from the sea, parts of the sky with heavy clouds with the occasional display of clear blue sky.

Sun forcing through so happily that a magnificent rainbow came into being. Sometimes it got double but mostly with so clear colors that I have hardly seen so beautiful rainbow before. I try and catch this on the camera, but seeing is richer than words can tell.

Helga Sigurðardóttir opened an exhibition of watercolor paintings in the Saltfish museum in Grindavík at 19th of March 2005.

Exhibition will be open until the 4th of April.

Main theme of the exhibition is the flow of power between land and mountains. Power comes from the amazing beauty and color variety of Icelandic nature and milieu. Helga's work interpret strong influence of nature. Use of strong colors and exploding colors are dominant.

Helga's art show guests were smiling, because of all the beauty in sight.

I like it when the flow reaches its maximum. Helga allows the colors to flow over the picture freely but with confidence.

Here are a few samples. Helga's pictures are at her homepage:
