Elín G Jóhannsdóttir
Nature - still life
Elín's paintings .. Served on the board .. and .. The lights in the town ..
Elín works with many themes at the same time. All they describe a particular atmosphere. Elín is a passionate painter and want to CShe travel a lot and gather information in mind and on paper and process it in my studio in Hafnarfjordur.
She loves to create art and use vibrant colors and show human emotion and passion. She gets inspiration everywhere, especially the colors. She has often traveled in green only to watch the beautiful colors. Colors give her joy and happiness that she wants to come to deliver to viewers. Painting is like dancing for her. It has to flow effortlessly and naturally, provided she can lose myself and connect to the creative flow. When she can do that, her hands paints as itself. After a good day in front of the canvas, she danced from the heart.
Elín wants to be better today than yesterday and paint, as long as health permits. Last but not least, she wants to mention the masters who had the most impact in her art. Toulouse –Lautrec, 1864-1901, she has seen the Moulin Rouge in Paris where Lautrec painted, but Millan is used for kabarett today. Vincent van Gogh 1853-1890, she went to his museum in Amsterdam, great self-portred was surprise, Edvard Munch 1863-1944, Munch was her first art work experience, his museum in Oslo is great, Egon Shiele 1890-1918, she went to Vienna in Austria to see this great graphics, Andy Warhol 1928-1987, his works have been in many places, London, Copenhagen and New York, Claude Monet 1840-26, she experienced the garden of his home where he painted his water lily series, fantastic experience, later she saw his water lilyes in New York at MoMa Museum, John Curran living artists, she still has only seen his work in 100 Contemporary Artists and of course Kjarval and Erro in Reykjavík.
